  • Recommended links with numbers (or numbers as text) in them not working as expected

We have documents for 1 month, 2 month... reviews
So we have created recommended links for 1 month*, 2 month*... and one month*, two month*... in our Zoom configuration.

We think this used to work under v6/v7 of Zoom but I can't verify this easily.

Under v8 searching for "1 month" or "2 month" in quotes works fine, the recommended links appear as expected

But searching for 1 month or one month without quotes doesn't work, it doesn't treat the search term as a phrase. For other phrases like parental leave, searching for a phrase appears to work.
Is there some problem because we are using numbers or words that equate to numbers? Are these terms ignored?

Is there some configuration option which will give us what we want?

Is this a public site we can look at?

Otherwise can you send us your configuration file.

A recommended link can be triggered by a list of either keywords or phrases.

For keywords (i.e. a single word, not delimited by a space), you can use the * or ? wildcard characters.

For phrases (a combination of words delimited by spaces), you can not use wildcard characters. It would be an exact match on the phrase.

This has been the same behaviour since V6.

So "1 month*" etc. would not have worked in the past either.

If you remove the * wildcard, the phrase will work as expected.

Noted this could be clearer in the documentation, and also perhaps Zoom should warn or strip away the wildcard character when used in a phrase that it will not support. We've made a note for the next release.

          Thanks; that explains it well.
The documents that people are actually searching for relate to 1 month review, 2 month review or 3 month review; hence the (attempted) use of the wildcard format 1 month*
Is there any way to get this effect or do I just have to put in the full text?

In this case, it's probably easiest just to have multiple phrases:

            1 month;1 month review;one month;one month review

And you wouldn't need separate entries for "1 month" and "one month" as you currently do.

On that note, alot of your single word recommended link doesn't need to have the wildcard character at the end.

For example you have "photocopy*". This would work just as well with "photocopy" and it would match any phrase containing photocopy. Your asterisk wildcard is only accommodating for cases like "photocopying"
