  • searchwords file problem (line 1)

I know that I'm using a slightly older version of Zoom (ver 5.1 build 1017) but I can't get the stats to work properly. When I run the stats report on both my server and the copy on my local computer, I get the same error:

The selected file appears to be the wrong type or an old log file created before Zoom 3.0
    Error on Line 1
Expected Data token but found none or encountered invalid data

You can access the file here: http://ophoa.org/search/stats/searchwords.log

There is also a sample file that also doesn't work here: http://ophoa.org/search/stats/searchwords_test.log

Please let me know what I need to do to fix this issue. If you don't know what is causing this, can you just email me (or post) a blank log file that I can start with?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks...

The invalid log file has lost a bunch of new line characters. The first line has 3 or more lines concatenated together. What might have happened is if you modified the file in a text editor or Word or similar at some point and saved the changes the application made.

The log file at http://ophoa.org/search/stats/searchwords.log appears to be working fine (without the concatenated lines). So you can probably continue with that? A blank log file is just a blank (0 bytes) file. You shouldn't need one. It should automatically create one if the file does not exist (and the script has access to write a new file to the folder).

      Hi,
I have exactly the same problem as piconut had except I've not modified the file in any way. I'm unsure why its got corrupted.

My log is located at http://millennium-thisiswhoweare.net/search/logs/
and when I access it with Zoom (ver 5.1 build 1017) it gaves me the same error:

The selected file appears to be the wrong type or an old log file created before Zoom 3.0
      Error on Line 1
Expected Data token but found none or encountered invalid data
My logs folder is set to 777 and the searchwords.log file itself is set at 666.

I have read your post Ray, but I'm unsure what action to take to either retrieve my current stats or, if I have to, to start again from scratch. Can you help?

      Many thanks.

I downloaded your log file file and it seems to be fine.

I suspect your problem is that you are enter in a folder name instead of a file name (as per the example you gave above).

The log file URL must be a file and not a folder.
