  • Sort results by Distance

    Hi,

I have a search form that has x2 input fields:

    (1) Tradesmen
    (2) Location

The search script attempts to search for a given Tradesmen type (e.g. Electrician) within a given Location (suburb: e.g. Parramatta)

Wondering if it's possible to sort the results by DISTANCE from the nominated "Location" value.

    e.g.
    Results:
    (1) Electrician ... 123 Test Rd, Parramatta .... O km's away.
    (2) Electrician ... 456 Test Rd, Parramatta .... O km's away.
    (3) Electrician ... 444 Another Rd, Burwood .... 12 km's away.
    (4) Electrician ... 555 Another Rd, Annandale .... 15 km's away.
    (5) Electrician ... 666 Another Rd, Gleb .... 18 km's away.
    etc.

    Thankyou!

The only sorting options available at the moment are sorting by date, and sorting by relevance.

You can make a custom meta search field to allow users to specify the maximum distance (e.g. "Tradesmen less than x km away") to return however. But this only solves half the problem.
