There will be no category summary when:
    (a) All search results found belong to the same category (or no category)
    (b) Categories have been disabled at time of indexing ("Configure"->"Categories"->"Enable categories")
    (c) You have disabled the option "Show category breakdown in search results" checkbox under "Configure"->"Categories".

Actually, my requirement is before displaying the results need to show the count of results along with category name, as it already comes in search.cgi file, but i am taking the results in xml format (zoom_xml=1) and the parse it to show the output, there i am unable to see the category count& name

What version of Zoom are you using?

After applying the changes Ray suggested, you will also need to re-index your site before the changes take effect.

Please specify and check the build number. This is under "Help"->"About".

The latest build can be found here:
                http://www.wrensoft.com/zoom/whatsnew.html

You will have to give us a URL to the search page in question so we can see, and provide us with the search query that demonstrates this issue. If this is not possible, you will need to zip up your search files and e-mail them to us. There are other possibilities why this is not showing up -- and we can only trust that you are using the correct queries to test this. So if we can test this directly, we can be of more help.
